We are a market town practice which deals with most types of legal work. We have been established for over 250 years. The four partners in the firm together with the fully qualified support staff aim to carry out high quality work for all our clients and to give a professional and personal service.

Mr John Hawks is the senior partner and Notary Public. He deals mainly with Litigation. He is a member of the Association of Personal Injury Lawyers and the Spinal Injury Association and a member of the Law Society's Personal Injury Panel.

Mrs Maria Wright, a partner deals with Probate / Wills and Trusts, and also undertakes residential Conveyancing.

Mr Peter Johnston, a partner deals mainly with Commercial Contracts and Leases and also deals with Probate and Wills.

Mrs Cathy Harrod, a partner, deals with Personal injury / accident claims. She is a member of the Association of Personal Injury Lawyers.

Mrs Judith Winder a Licensed Conveyancer deals with residential Conveyancing. Our conveyancing fees are extremely competitive, please do not hesitate to call for a quote or contact us by e-mail.

Sir David Hart, Solicitor and former secretary of the National Association of Head Teachers and an experienced Employment Lawyer undertakes employment issues.

Miss Dorothy Steel, assistant solicitor undertakes Probate/Wills and debt collection work.

Mr John Moffatt, retired partner and now Consultant, deals with residential Conveyancing. John will not be in the office on a full time basis from May 2011 but can be contacted via his mobile number which can be provided on request.
